BLACK & WHITE

Few people know about my passion for black and white photography because it is very different from my gentle style wedding photo, also because not often advertised by me and remains to be on this day my most favorite hobby.

Before I started to shoot weddings, I felt a big interest to old analog cameras with 6x6 format or 6x7, I had the inspiration for the different types of people and their character appearance, I loved experiments, find something new, watch the light, study as the film works in different situations and then how film works in the development process.

Besides the equipment and technical components, which we can talk about or have debated a lot of time, of course, the most important part is work with peoples. It is a very interesting, exciting, and important experience that develops many useful skills in the future. I feel that even now I'm not ready will do shootings with the older generation, especially when those people have a rich inner world. I think not enough to be an experienced photographer, very important to be a profound person, interesting interlocutor, psychologist. Basically, photography is such a big theme which not enough to study whole life and I often convinced in this.

Once a long time ago my father gave me his Zenith EM and probably, exactly from that moment I started to love analog cameras.  Personally, for me, film it is another impression, aesthetics, it's something real, eternal and even appearance and smell of the camera, which has its own history,

can adjust me on a special wave.

I started my own way with a 35mm film format and then quickly changed it to the medium format.  My first camera was Kiev 60, then I bought Pentacon Six, which has a lot of deficiencies, but I use it until now and I like it. In my shootings, I often use Kodak 400 t-max and Tri-x 400 films, also T-max Developer and Fixer for it. Also, I really like Ilford and such films as Hp5 and Fp4 with Ilfotec DD-X and Ilford rapid fixer. Despite some critique on the internet, I like Fomapan 400 action, especially if to use formats more than 6x4,5. I'll not be deep on the film theme and BW portrait, I just want to share something close to my soul, moments, and photos from the past
